Minecraft Pocket Edition – anyone tested?

Wow! Today I installed on my smartphone Minecraft Pocket Edition. It was version demo, although it looks really good and runs smoothly. Anyone tested full version?

It seems that there’s single player (creative and survival modes) and multi player (!) – there’s “Join Game” button in menu, and when clicked it starts to search games available via wifi! I’m not sure if it’s demo or full version feature, but I’ll try to test it with my friend.

Again – anyone tested it? Full or demo version? Is it worth buying? Please write in comments :)

About nether #2 – monsters

In nether you’ll probably find several types of monsters that it’s impossible to meet in “normal world”. They’re more powerful, but also more rare to meet.

  • Zombie Pigman – neutral monster, but when you attack one of them, all Zombie Pigmans in your field of vision will attack you. They are rather strong, especially to playing using hard level of difficulty. The best option is always not to attack them.

  • Ghast – big, floating monster. It attacks you using fireballs – it may be really dangerous, especially when you start to burn. Ghasts can be killed using bow or by deflecting fireballs – you can easily deflect them, using any tool – but you have to be careful.

  • Magma Cube – equivalent to Slime in normal world (but can swim in lava)

  • Blaze – the strongest monster in Nether. Very dangerous, especially when attacks in a group. It shoots 3 fireballs at the time and has strong melee hits. The best method to fight it is to lure them separately (and to always have safe room when you can escape).

About nether #1 – how to get into nether?

Hello!

If you have ever played Minecraft, you probably heard about such thing as nether. What the nether is? It’s just like other dimension in Minecraft, which looks like hell. Exactly, actually like hell – there’s a lot of lava and fire and it’s rather a dangerous place.

How to get into nether?

The only way to get into nether is to build a nether portal. It’s not really hard to built, although it’s impossible to do it at the beginning of the game (in new world). Why? The only type of blocks needed to built nether portal is obsidian, which can be mined only using diamond pick.

How many obsidian blocks do you need to build a nether portal? 10 or 14, depending on the type of the portal (full or optimized). There’s absolutely no difference between them (except the look) – they work exactly the same.

The idea is to create frame 4×5 (obsidian blocks in corners aren’t necessary). Then you just have to activate the portal, using flint and steel on it. That’s all!

My castle in Minecraft

About 2 months ago I’ve built a castle in Minecraft. Maybe it isn’t really huge, but has nice main building in the center and beautiful tower next to it. I also managed to build cool automatic gate – all you have to do is to press small button and the gate magically opens.

In the basement of the main building there is a nether portal room. Funny thing – I’ve built exactly the same room at every portal (the one in “normal world” and the one in nether).
